Firstly, I just want to say that this piece is gorgeous! The form of the character as well as the contrast in the color is done beautifully!
A couple of things I noticed would be in the background. While they're not "major" things, they might help bring the piece out a little. I would try blurring the far grass (closer to the sun) a little bit, to make it seem like it's a further on horizon. It will give the piece a little bit more depth and 3-dimension. I really love you you pulled the grass up around the bottom corners of the painting though, it makes it look as though you're watching this character from behind tall grass!
The sky is another point of interest. Your sun is beautifully placed and seems to be setting- maybe next time add a little more pink/orange/red to the sky? Right now it's mostly blue, but I think with a little color in there, you can really make it seem as though the sun is going down! Great job with those clouds, they are gorgeous! I also like how you've made the top of the sky darker as opposed to where the sun is.
Lastly, I would suggest adding a little bit more of a lighter highlight and a darker shadow to the character's lighter and darker points to really make it stand out. Maybe also completely cover the front paws, or add a bit of a shadow under them to give it more depth.
This is a gorgeous piece, and I think with just a few of those things I mentioned it could really pop even more!
I'm sorry but no everything is closed until I finish the drawings I owe to ppl and it's not much anymore
I'm determent to finish everything this weekend so that on Monday all the Point Commissions/ATs/Collabs are going to be open and ready for requests of any of these <^w^>
So hopefully next week everything is going to be open so stay tuned Cx
